Staying in and going all out ~ review & give away

Wanchai Ferry and Macaroni Grill through MyBlogSpark recently asked me about my first date...
um...
I tried thinking back to my first date with my hubby...

Is it bad that I don't remember exactly when it was?
~ Do you remember your first date with your partner?

I mean really...We met in a group and went out as a group...

in fact...I when I really really think about it - I think our first REAL date was going to be a Final Five hockey game with our home state and his Alma mater the UND Fighting Sioux playing here in town...and then all of a sudden a bunch of friends were coming along - that was typical back then!

Everybody goes - or nobody goes!
HA HA!

I did some digging around to see if I could find any pictures of us from around our first date era, but a recent computer crash has me and my photo collection discombobulated...

but I did discover these - which I am confident were taken within the first year of us meeting and falling in love...

Here we are - ten and a half years later - I relish the quiet time with my hubby.
We don't get a lot of quiet time around these here parts...
We also don't get out much - so when I was asked to 'stay in and go all out' & have date night at home, I jumped at the opportunity.
Restaurant inspired meals at home...
Does it get any better?

The thing is...I don't cook. Well, I do...but not very well and I do not find it enjoyable...

Imagine my surprise when I opened up the box to find everything I would need!

Well, almost everything...
I did have to take out some chicken breast, slice it into strips/cubes and fry it up in a pan for approximately 3 minutes...

Then I simply added the remaining packets one by one...
seasoning, creamy sauce, sun dried tomato!

So how did it taste?
We LOVED it!
The hubs said 'This is really good! I'd have this again!' - That's awesome! Now I can add another dish to my repertoire of 5 revolving things I make around here!

Not only was this quick and easy to prepare (20 minutes from start to finish!) but it really did taste awesome.

Rich in flavor and easily restaurant quality at home!

Our first date was a blind date out to eat and watch a hockey game. Now date nights are unfortunatly few and far between!

  12. I was never much for going out, Robb and I are at home daters. We spring for the candles and take out once in a blue moon. With no kids we could easily get away, but working overnights makes it tricky at times. One of us works a 14 hour shift on Friday and the other a 12 on Saturday. Then again we are a bit non traditional. My fave date consisted of hotdogs and potato salad picnic at home after work (so 4 in the morning) in the middle of summer, or a date to just go grab an icecream cone in the afternoon. Its the simple things that I like best I think.

  13. Our first date was over coffee. As for how long it's been since we've had a date outside of home, it's been a looooong while.
