Brookstone - Holiday Shopping made easy...

Ho Ho Ho - MERRY CHRISTMAS!

I can say that now - it's less than a month away!
YIKES!

Remember when I visited Brookstone late last spring and found so many things I didn't know I needed?

I recently had the opportunity to hang out in their Mall of America store again....

THIS time, I even sat in their massage chair!  The uAstro Massager...
aye aye aye!

I could post pictures of myself in the chair, but really, there's nothing flattering about seeing that - so...
Just use your imagination...That thing heats & massages everything...wowsa!

With the holidays quickly approaching, Brookstone has something for everyone - from big items for the whole family to cute, adorable and practical stocking stuffers for people of all ages! (I still stuff stockings for the adults who spend Christmas in our home...so this is perfect for me!)

Some of the highlights I found...
Zoku Pops!

Phone Folio - How great is this!

Rover - Every (big & little) kid's dream!

I could tell you about all of my favorite things from Brookstone - but, I already did that...

So, why don't you go ahead - check out Brookstone for yourself...I bet you can find something for everyone on your list!

(Don't forget yourself!!)

*** A special thank you to Brookstone for having me out to the MOA as their special guest earlier this month.  Words and opinions are my own.  I was given a small gift of appreciation from Brookstone for my time. ***

CHEERios - A Give Away!

**** Edited on 12/2/2011 to announce the winner - a HUGE thank you to all who entered & who are supporting our troops! Without further ado...thanks to the Rafflecopter Entry form - the winner is...

Congratulations Kellyn!
____________________________________________________________________
Everyone can use a little pick me up now and then. But for the millions of military families manning the fort at home while their loved ones are away serving, a gesture of Cheer is especially welcome.

When our troops are called to serve, their families must rise to meet the challenges of service as well. To thank them, Cheerios® and the USO have partnered in a postcard campaign that spreads Cheer directly to these honorable military families and supports USO programs.

Here’s how it works:

Through November 2011 at your local grocer, specially-marked boxes of Cheerios cereal will feature Cheer postcards on the front of the box. Consumers can simply cut out the postcard from the Cheerios logo, write a message of thanks on the back, add a stamp and mail the pre-addressed card to the USO. The USO will deliver the Cheer card to military families across the country.

For each postcard received through November 2012, Cheerios will make a $1 donation to the USO to help fund programs that support military families.

To kick off the campaign, Cheerios has already donated $150,000 to the USO and will donate up to an additional $100,000 based upon the number of postcards received from specially marked boxes now through November 30th, 2012.

Sending a “Cheer” postcard is a simple way to say thanks and lift the spirits of our country’s military families. So, take a moment out of your day to spread some Cheer and send a message of thanks!

And thanks to the folks at General Mills and MyBlogSpark - I have a super fun prize pack to give away!
1 winner's prize pack will contain the following items:

1 Cheerios cereal bowl
1 Cheerios cereal spoon
1 cereal dispenser

Some fun tidbits about the Zevro - Indispensable Dispenser - you do not HAVE to use it for cereal! (Hello - office M&M's? anyone?)

Some of our nights are a little more hectic than others...

Like the days where we go right from school to swimming lessons and then hurry home for showers, homework, books and bedtimes...

Nights like those, we love to take the easy way out & pick up something both convenient and fast...

Tonight, our kiddos were absolutely thrilled with the new The BK CROWNTM/MC Program & the interactive Kids Meal box. Sitting atop each box is a newly redesigned BURGER KING® crown, because every kid deserves to be treated like royalty at BURGER KING®

With crowns on their heads, kids can dive into the box, taking it apart, playing fun games and activities that challenge their minds, inspire their imagination and engage with the whole family.

Finger Puppets punched out from the BK Crown Program Box!
BKC has established a fund to help support the Wildlife Conservation SocietyNational Parks Conservation AssociationDonorsChoose.org and Have It Your Way™ Foundation. By visiting BKCrown.com, kids learn how BKC’s charitable partners make a difference. Upon entering BK CROWNTM/MC Codes that are found on the inside of the new Kid's Meal boxes and clicking on their favorite cause, each kid’s vote helps BK® choose which charity to give back to.

Thanks to the fine folks from MyBlogSpark and Burger King, I have a $25.00 gift card to give away!

Simply leave a comment using the form below telling me
What part of the BK CROWNTM/MC Program would your child like most? AND/OR
Which charity would they pick to help BK® choose how to give back to and why?

None of the entries are mandatory...choose whatever you feel comfortable with...

I am putting some *bonus entries* in this awesome give away as I test the waters with this new-to-me entry form...feel free to do however, how many your heart desires!
It only takes one to win, but the more you enter - the more chances you have!
One winner of a $25 Burger King Gift Card will be chosen on Wednesday, November 30th.

____________________________________________________________

My main reason for blogging is so that I have a place to collect the literally hundred of pictures that I take each and every month - and make some rhyme and reason out of them.

At the end of each year, I take my blog and turn it into a hard cover book...one day, I will gift these books to our kids who will have beautifully bound books of our adventures, complete with narrative. I hope they will enjoy them & share them with generations to come. I love love love looking at old photos of my family.

For every 1 picture you see in my online spaces...
there are most likely another dozen or so at home.

I am sort of a nut about pictures...I just love them.
I have them on memory cards, the computer, (some) backed up to online sharing sites, and the blog. Every once in awhile - I spend a good chunk of time and I back them up to an External Hard Drive as well.

All of this is well and good - as long as nothing ever happens to said devices.
Water damage, fire damage, kid damage?

I've contemplated online back up for my entire computer - but didn't figure I needed it when I really don't do anything except pictures and blog booking on my home computer...

If I had enough time weren't so lazy, I could back up all of my pictures to an online photo sharing site and call it good...but again, we're talking huge volumes of pictures. And the ones I've used have started imposing limits...

I have huge volumes of pictures I'd be devastated if I lost.
Last August, on the very same day my Mom lost her battle with cancer, our fence had a lightning strike, which traveled into our house and fried our computer (and our cable box, our modem, blah blah blah.)

Life had been hectic and my pictures were NOT backed up.
Not a one from the summer.

::cry::

Here I am, just over a year later...
Enter Carbonite Online Back Up.

I'd heard commercials for Carbonite and thought - oh, I wish I could afford something like that.

But really, how can you NOT afford it.
How would YOU feel if your computer crashed & you lost everything?

I was THRILLED when I was recently offered a one year trial subscription of Carbonite Online Back Up...

I couldn't wait to back up my files!

Carbonite has a very user friendly, easy to read, easy to follow website.
Perfect for non-tech savvy folks like myself...

Carbonite warns that it could take some time to back up your files if there are many...
like...many many files equals many many days...
Ladies and Gentleman...

It took my computer 14 days to back up!
Aye Aye Aye!

But...

Finally, 100% backed up!
It wouldn't of had to take that long - but -
It was hard to keep the computer on, and in non-sleep mode while it needed to do it's initial thing.

Carbonite's website explains very clearly everything you could possibly want to know and more -

Highlights for me?

You can log in to Carbonite from ANY COMPUTER and access your files...
Hello? Want to show Grandma a few pictures that didn't make the blog? Now I can! Log in to Grandma's computer with your Carbonite information and viola! Access to all of your pictures!

No limit to how much you can back up!!
I stopped 'backing up' all of my pictures when an online photo sharing site began limiting how much you could store in each album...and now...everything is backed up, automatically. Even the goofy random outtakes I can't possibly delete!

And...the PRICE!
Carbonite back up is available for just $59.00 a year!
That's less than $5.00 a month for the peace of mind of having your computer backed up! While I don't have anything other than pictures that I am concerned about, my husband DOES keep his softball stats on our home computer...so there's that. I'm guessing other people out there have other things that might be more important to them...
Less than $5.00 a month you guys!
Priceless!

Do you use an online back up system?
Have you heard of or tried Carbonite?

OR...you can leave a comment here and be entered to win your very own, one year subscription of Carbonite!

Up to 3 entries per person -

I'm trying out this fancy new way of hosting the give away - I've absolutely loved it on other blogs, so I hope it's as easy and fun as it appears to be!

The winner of a one year FREE subscription to Carbonite Online Back Up will be chosen on Monday, November 28th, 2011.Good Luck!

*** I was given a one year media subscription to Carbonite and one to give away. Words you are reading on this page are mine and mine alone. ***
